Celebrating 60 Years of Service.

Women, bound by friendship, serving together to enrich our community.

Akima's mission is to be a friend to the community by giving of ourselves and our resources with respect, dedication and compassion.

The Akima Club is a women's service organization designed to provide assistance to the community of Knoxville, Tennessee, both through time and monetary support. Even though the membership of the Akima Club never exceeds 125 active members, a significant impact is made each year with an average of over 3,000 hours in volunteer time.

The major fundraiser for the Akima Club is a locally written and produced "Cabaret" performance held every other year. Monies raised through ad sales and corporate sponsorships are distributed through a grant program. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised to benefit our community.

Please visit the links to the left for further information on the many aspects of this exciting club and the traditions begun 60 years ago.

Every other year the Akima Club takes on producing our cabaret show, and all money collected goes directly back to the community. Our 2008 Cabaret was an incredible success! Our talented Akima women and their husbands did a phenomenal job. The Akima Road Trip Show Pictures can be seen here .
